Humungous Whales!

This week Room 12 watched an amazing video of a whale swimming beside a boat!

We wrote stories pretending that we were on the boat. We thought we would feel awestruck!

This is the video we watched Video of Whale

Have a look at our amazing writing!

I was going fishing. I saw a humungous whale. The whale was following the boat. It was white like a cloud. The whale was blue like the sky. The whale was doing a flip. The whale was happy. It was humungous. I felt over the moon. The whale was splashing.
By Tewila

I was happy. I liked it. My family was so happy too. My sister and me and my brother were happy. The whale was blue.
By Sarah

The sun was glistening on the water like crystals. The boat was wobbling like there was an earthquake. Then I saw a slimy, grey back. It was a gigantic, blue whale. It jumped. Its tail was the size of three yellow buses. I was awestruck. “Now that’s incredible.”
By Shaan

The sun was glistening on the water like diamonds. I was awestruck. It was the biggest whale in the whole world. It was incredible. The whale was blue and white.
By Shiv

I went with my family to see a humungous whale. The water looks like a spa. The waves are moving and the colour is light blue. The whale is bigger than the boat. His tail is big too.

I was getting on the boat. I went into the deeper water. Then I saw a whale. I was awestruck to see the whale. Then I saw a whole family of whales. They were as pink as a pig.

A shadow appeared under the water… and then a blue whale that was gigantic like the titanic. I was so awestruck because I have never seen a blue whale before. I felt over the moon. The whale was blue and white. When the blue whale passed, it made little waves go past. The whale spat water at me.
By Samuel

One day I went with my dad. We went fishing for a whale.

Welcome to Term 2!

We are so excited about this terms concept "We are all Scientists!"

We have spent a lot of time talking about what a scientist is, what they do and what they have or use. We know that ANYBODY can be a scientist.

We have done 2 experiments already!

The first experiment we did was seeing what happened when we mixed baking soda and vinegar.

Some of our predictions were that it would explode, it would make bubbles and that it would blow up!

So far we are loving being scientists!

Happy Easter From Room 12

This week we have had some fun to celebrate the upcoming Easter Holidays. We went on an Easter Hunt with the awesome Room 5.
We had to find clues around the school that lead us to a box of treasure! It was so much fun!

After our Treasure Hunt we used our cool new pencils to write about the fun we had. Tewila, Nevaeh and Tauheed worked so hard that they went and showed their writing to Mr and Mrs Barratt! They thought their writing was AMAZING!

This is Nevaeh's story.

This is Tauheed's story.
